Finn is getting to the age where we can truly enjoy hanging together, making solo parenting is significantly less stressful. Albert has been here all week, but work has had him out the door very early and home very late, and he’ll be out of town starting tomorrow morning until Monday. Before, a schedule like this would feel weighty and exhausting; now, the only real impact is that I can’t do a workout in the morning. Noticing that shift is honestly kinda cool. Still, I’m trying to think a few days out so I don’t find myself wondering what to do or scrambling. I’m looking up weekend craft classes, paying attention to the notes Finn brings home in his backpack, and taking advantage of Prime Day to get ready for Halloween.

For the second Friday in a row, we had plans as a fam, this time dinner with family that was visiting. Tomorrow it’ll be back to pizza and a movie on the couch, but it was nice to be out and about after a long week.

It was picture day this week at school, and this year I actually understood we [counterintuitively] have to commit to purchasing photos before they actually take them. I can’t wait to see how they come out and love that they get the cool graffiti wall background.

While I haven’t been able to make coffee at home this week, we have been getting ourselves out the door early enough that I can stop for a coffee on my way to work, which is its own small pleasure. On days I drop V off, I hit uptown Townhouse; on days Albert takes him, my commute takes me past my other fave, Same Time Tomorrow.
